Lazy-Susan Chef's Salad
Set out big bowls so everyone can toss his own to suit his taste.
Makes 8 servings.
1 package (12 ounces) assorted sliced cold cuts
1 package (8 ounces) sliced Swiss cheese
1 package (8 ounces) sliced caraway cheese
1 package (8 ounces) sliced process American cheese
1 large red onion, peeled, sliced and separated into rings
1 bunch radishes, washed and trimmed
1 large cucumber, halved and sliced thin
1 package (about 4 ounces) garlic-flavor croutons
2 small heads romaine, washed and dried
Garlic dressing(recipe follows)
Procedure:
1. Slice cold cuts and cheese into thin strips. Arrange with onion, radishes, cucumber and croutons in separate dishes on a Lazy Susan or pile in separate mounds on a large serving platter.
2. Break romaine into bite-size pieces in another bowl in the center.
3. Serve with Garlic dressing.
Garlic Dressing:
Combine 1 cup olive oil or vegetables oil, 1/2 cup wine vinegar or cider vinegar, 1 clove garlic, minced and a dash each of salt and pepper in a small jar with a tight-fitting cover; shake well to mix. Shake again before serving. makes 1 1/2 cups.
